Tackling Kids Cancer with the NY Giants and Hackensack UMC

Marc Rovner, Attorney

Marc Rovner, of East Rockaway, New York, is the senior staff attorney at BETA Abstract, a title insurance company. In this role, he manages business development activities at BETA Abstract’s offices in New York, New Jersey, and Florida. Aside from his professional responsibilities, attorney Marc Rovner supports a number of charitable organizations, including the Hackensack University Medical Center.

The Hackensack UMC has spent 30 years fighting pediatric cancer in New Jersey by providing exceptional care and pursuing groundbreaking research through clinical trials. In a partnership with the New York Giants, the Children’s Cancer Institute at Hackensack UMC has launched an initiative called Tackle Kids Cancer to raise funds and awareness to support the work taking place at the institute.

Money raised through the Tackle Kids Cancer initiative is directly applied to programs such as the pediatric neuro-oncology program that focuses on the clinical and research needs of kids with brain or spinal cord tumors. A developmental therapeutics program is also underway that provides alternative therapies to kids that are not responding to traditional therapies. Funds are also applied to genetics programs, clinical trials directly related to bone marrow transplants, and a program specifically designed for pediatric cancer survivors.
